Hello!
An activist as fundraiser, my goal is to move money into the hands of those leading change for good. With more than 20 years of experience working inside women’s funds and NGOs as a lead fundraiser, I have successfully raised money in many ways: from crafting strong, persuasive grant proposals to assembling lengthy government bids, to mobilizing networks of individuals for memorable cocktail parties, I enjoy the tangible outcomes of fundraising work done well. This work and the many people and places I’ve gotten to know along the way have left me with a strong network and deep knowledge of global funding landscapes, and as an extrovert and people-person, I love an opportunity to connect people across movements for a new idea or ambitious project.
As an independent consultant, I seek to do the doing: that is, let’s mobilize that strategy, break it down into achievable work, plan and adapt, and bring the money in. As a long-term planner and an irrepressible optimist, I bring a very practical perspective to fundraising work as well as a problem-solving mindset. I offer support to organizations as well as individuals either just starting out in fundraising or perhaps wanting to try something new; I work on a project-basis or can be a thought partner and advisor on a longer-term structural approach.
You will find me based in Amsterdam, working globally and with a soft spot for my native US Pacific Northwest. I am a proud mother, a big reader, and often scheming for more time in the forest. When the hardships of social justice work get me down, I look here to regain perspective and encourage you too to think bigger.
I look forward to talking with you about fundraising!
